Rain, Rain Go Away

This is what it looked like on Wednesday. Nice and warm. It was a fun day for Lily at the park. By Thursday afternoon the weather played a trick on us.
It has been raining for about 48 hours now. I am so sick of the constant downpour. If it was warm, it would be okay, but it is freezing. Somehow we got a 50 degree weekend in August. I would love to post some pictures of the fun outdoor activities we had planned, but no such luck. We are now under a flood watch. Great.

The library gave us tickets to our local amusement park for the summer reading program. We decided to use them on Nick's birthday. It was fun, but a little too cold for my liking. Nick and Ben rode the big roller coasters while Anna and I terrorized Lily on things she was big enough to ride, but did not enjoy.

See how Lily is smiling in the picture over there<-----? About 30 seconds later she was screaming and white as a sheet. Needless to say she did not go for another round on the little roller coaster. Anna liked it, though.

Everyone was ready to go soon after that. The cold/rain was on its way in to ruin our weekend. I got one last shot of my excited family.

On Friday night we had Nick's birthday party. He invited a few of his friends over for some food and fun. The boys enjoyed running around the house making lots of noise. We were hoping to do some outside activities, but that pesky rain stopped us. Ben then took the rowdy bunch to to see Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The report was good. The 10 year old boys all recommend it. I was happy to stay home with Lily. It was an all boy party. Nick enjoyed his Dairy Queen, no cake in it, cake. Notice the orange frosting to match his orange shirt. The boy loves to wear orange. Thanks grandpa for giving my son a love of the color orange. I think that he had a fun party.

Saturday morning we had another cousin's baptism. This time it was for Bryce. That is him in the back with the suit on. Isn't he a hansome guy? We got a picture that had all of the cousins but little McKay. It is really cute. They are a wild bunch, if you couldn't tell. Notice the long sleeves and coats. Overall we had a great weekend, though somewhat soggy. We were a busy bunch and made some memories. I guess that is what it is all about.

Lo and behold, Dad is wearing his orange shirt now. It hasn't rubbed off on Frankie, maybe he's just too young to really express a color preference!
